The Ice House Mall of Barrington
Located in downtown Barrington, The Ice House Mall has been a part of the Barrington community for 113 years.The Ice House Mall & Village Shops is Barrington’s premier boutique mall. Originally built by Bowman Dairy in the 1904, and converted to the Suburban Ice Company and then the Jefferson Ice Company. The unique concept of building a shopping mall in an old ice house while maintaining the architectural style and charm of the original building began in the early 1970's to become the Ice House Mall, a one of a kind shopping desination.
1904 The Bowman Dairy provided milk by horse drawn carriages to the town of Barrington. The original building is now the Ice House Mall & Village Shops.
1926 Vintage Illinois Commuter Railroad dining car built by Pullman, provides a unique dining experience for Chessie’s Restaurant customers!

In the summer of 1978, the orginal Barrington Train Station was moved down Main Street to become a part of the current Chessie’s Restaurant.
1926 Vintage Illinois Commuter Railroad Dining Car built by Pullman provides an unique dining experience for Chessie’s Restaurant diners! Customers have a view of the Union Pacific Metra train and the Canadian Frieght line trains pass by outside the windows while dining !
